Photogrammetry & Inputs

Three photogrammetry systems on the market. We design from all three — and from horizontal scan bodies and plain intraoral scans too.

Photogrammetry gives you implant positions, not soft tissue. We need both — the export and an intraoral scan.

In vitro, Journal of Dentistry 2026 (Mangano et al.): extraoral photogrammetry 5 µm mean deviation on a six-implant arch, intraoral photogrammetry 29 µm, intraoral scanners 34–223 µm.

Input Specification

Send the export as the system wrote it.

Input spec v0 — under review

  1. iCam4D

    Imetric

The full Imetric4D folder — it already contains the exocad and 3Shape exports — plus an IOS soft-tissue scan and the opposing arch.

No soft tissue — no intaglio or emergence. No opposing arch — no occlusion.

  2. PIC system · PIC app

    PIC dental

The PIC file, a soft-tissue STL, and a bite registration.

A PIC file alone holds no tissue and no bite — we ask for both.

  3. MicronMapper · EVO

    ClaroNav

The implant position XML plus the STL from the same session.

One without the other is half a record — we ask for the missing half.

  4. Horizontal scan bodies

Scan Ladder · NEXUS · SmartFlag · IO Connect · AlliedStar DIRECT IP · MEDIT Smart-X

The IOS STL with the bodies in situ, plus the system and the exact library name.

Without the library name, a best-fit is a guess.

  5. Aoralscan Elite + IPG

    Shining 3D

The IPG export plus the scan from the same appointment.

The scan without its IPG export is a plain IOS case — we tell you if that happens.

  6. T Marker

    TruAbutment

The T Marker export plus the intraoral scan from the same appointment.

The export locates implants, the scan carries the anatomy — we need both.

No Photogrammetry?

Still send the case. Horizontal scan bodies work on a standard intraoral scanner — STL with the bodies in situ, plus the system and library name.

A plain IOS full-arch impression is accepted too. We call out where a verification step belongs before anything is milled.
